Thigh High... Boots

We are well into the fall season, and temperatures are definitely dropping, if they have not already. When it comes to fall fashion, boots are probably one of the first items that everyone starts to pull out or buy. This season the boot possibilities are endless, but one style that is standing out and trending is the thigh high or over the knee boot.

The thigh high or over the knee boot can give a high style or glamorous look, but it can also go very wrong and give you the "Pretty Woman" look. Here are a few tips and ideas on how to wear this trend.

Over the knee boots look great with skinny jeans, you should try other colors besides black...a great modern neutral is gray.

Pair a dressier style of thigh high/over the knee boots with a pair of dark skinnies and a tuxedo blazer for a more glam look.

To avoid the "Pretty Woman" look, do not wear thigh high boots with anything too short. A thin layer of skin between the bottom of your garment and top of the boot will look much more sophisticated and chic. Try to balance out the look by not showing too much skin all at once because tall boots automatically bring sexiness to a look.

Another don't is wearing too much of the same texture or material. Try mixing textures and do not layer leather on top of leather on top of leather. If you are wearing leather boots, do not wear a leather dress/skirt/shorts with a leather jacket/top, etc. Since leather is so trendy right now, try pairing a suede boot with leather garments.
