What to Wear: Magenta and Turquoise
It is nearly spring, and you know what that means...spring clothes! Two staples for me this spring are a white or ivory blazer and turquoise statement necklace. I love mixing colors that compliment one another rather than being so "matchy, matchy." I've put together an outfit using an ivory blazer and turquoise statement necklace with a magenta dress. Turquoise looks great with so many colors including magenta and other pink tones.

Family Room Update: Furniture
I am happy to report that all of the seating for the family room is ordered and will be delivered in a million ten weeks. Ten weeks seems like forever, especially for such an impatient person like moi. But instead of dwelling on the whole ten week delivery thing, I am going to celebrate the fact that we actually have an order in and cannot go back and change it!
If you remember from this post we picked out a sofa, but as I mentioned a while back we put that order on hold and thank goodness because we chose a totally different fabric. This is the sofa that we ordered, but ours will be upholstered in a soft, cool gray.
We ordered two armless chairs to pair side by side rather than purchasing another love seat. It is this chair but will be in a tone on tone gray patterned fabric, which is my favorite. I can't wait to share the real chairs!
I am obsessed with accent chairs. If there is an empty corner or nook, an accent chair will be there! I also love wing back chairs, but they are usually pretty large; so I didn't think it would be an option for the family room since we are limited on space. You can imagine how excited I was to find a wing back chair that was "petite" and had nail head trim. Of course we ordered it once we took the dimensions and knew it would fit in the space. This is the chair, and we ordered it in an ivory fabric that has a bit of a sheen to it.
I know it is kind of difficult to visualize the overall look of the furniture since the pictures above are upholstered in different fabrics than what we ordered, but I just wanted to give an idea of how things will be. You can also check out the color scheme and accent pillows that we will use here.

Academy Awards Fashion
Did you stay up last night and watch the Academy Awards? My favorite part of these award shows is the fashion and beauty. I love to see what dresses the ladies wear and how their hair and make up is styled. I wasn't blown away last night by any of the dresses, but my favorites were definitely the white ones.

I thought most of the dresses looked much better on stage than they did on the red carpet. JLo and Cameron Diaz presenting:

White was definitely a trend for the night:
I also thought Stacy Keibler looked great. I did like her dress, but I was not as crazy about it as most seemed to be. Either way, she still looks stunning in Marchesa.
There were also some great pops of color. None of the colorful dresses were my favorite, but I do love the colors.

A Big City Weekend
Good morning and happy Friday! I am in the big city of Dallas this morning and for the rest of the weekend. I have had a hectic last few weeks and am thrilled to get away and hangout in the Big D for the weekend. We have a family wedding to attend, but before the wedding festivities we will be shopping (you can't come to Dallas and not shop) and visiting with old friends.
Thank goodness for a patient husband because there are so many places that I want to go. Here are a few that I cannot leave Dallas without visiting:
I definitely want to take advantage of some of the great home decor stores that Dallas has to offer, so we will definitely be making a stop at these two.
We will have to stop for a drink or a bite to eat here:
And we can't forget about the fabulous clothing and accessory shops that Dallas has!
A stop at the Highland Park Village shops is a must.

Etsy Throw Pillow Roundup
I have mentioned purchasing throw pillows on Etsy several times, and each time I search for pillows for my home, I flag others that catch my eye. Etsy is a great place to look for pillows because there is a very large selection and they are very affordable. You can always find designer pillows that are less expensive than what you would find at an upscale home decor store. Throw pillows are a great way to change up a space without too much commitment or cost and are a great way to bring in a touch of spring.

Color Inspiration: Seafoam Green
