The Oscars

I love, love award shows mainly because I just love to see all the beautiful gowns and jewelry and people. Here are some of my favorite looks from the night:

First of all, I thought Sandra Bullock looked stunning, and I just loved her Marchesa gown. I was really pleased that she won best actress; her speech was perfect and so touching when she acknowledged her mother and her mother's wisdom leading her to her husband, and she's funny. Basically, I just love her.

I also thought Cameron Diaz looked stunning in her Oscar de la Renta gown, kind of the same look as Sandra Bullock.

I think Penelope Cruz is one of the most beautiful women, and I am slightly jealous. I thought she looked great as always, but I have to say I wasn't crazy about her Donna Karan couture dress. I liked the color, but I just didn't care for the way it fit her.

I think Kristen Stewart is so awkward, and I was a little sad that such a beautiful Monique Lhuillier gown was wasted on her. It's such a beautiful dress, but she just doesn't bring anything to it.

I thought Miley Cyrus looked great and very grown up. I loved her Jenny Packham gown.

Zoe Saldana's Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci was very dramatic but very very pretty; I loved the dress.

Outside of Sandra Bullock and Cameron Diaz, I think my favorite was Elizabeth Banks. I absolutely loved the Versace gown, and I would do anything to have this dress in ivory as my wedding dress.

I also have to acknowledge the wonderful Meryl Streep. I think she is an amazing actress, and I love her natural aging; I think she is just a stunning lady.

Kate Winslet was just okay for me. I thought the YSL dress was ok and it looked ok on her and her hair was just ok too. I did LOVE the $2.5 million Tiffany & Co. necklace however.

As much as I love SJP, I did not enjoy her hair. As much as I want the "out of control baby hairs" look to be in, I just don't think it's very becoming.

I totally disagreed with Charlize Theron's Dior by John Galliano choice. It looks like there was a malfunction with the dress and the bust did not inflate.

I have never really been a huge fan of Hilary Swank, but I am definitely not a fan of this Armani gown she wore. This was the Oscars, not Maxim's Hot Masculine Women, or not so hot... whatever... you get the point...not good.

And lastly, Ms. needed to "Shake shake shake shake it off"; shake off that gown.
